Not all smoke vent solutions are the same, although there are advantages to having a smoke vent glazed to allow natural light within a building this is not always needed. For those instances when natural light is not required, The National Domelight Company are able to offer a range of options for your smoke vent needs.
Commonly used in areas which are positioned above or within a smoke vent shaft where light is not required or other sources of light are available within the same zone, there are several types of mechanism available to suit your needs.

Stardome smoke vents are high quality flat roof polycarbonate or solid lid AOV’s designed to make optimum use of roof opening sizes. They are offered in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and glazing options to meet virtually any specifier and user requirement whilst still complying with CE EN 12101-2.
The solid lid construction provides excellent security and the benefit of Stardome solid lid smoke vents available in such a wide range of sizes is one of the reasons they are so popular with architects and specifiers who are restricted with sizes within a design but still need a fully EN 12101-2 compliant smoke vent or SHEV unit.
Supplied factory assembled and factory tested all products are certified to CE EN12101-2. Coxdome SHEV rooflights not only help to provide smoke extraction in the event of a fire but they also provide day-to-day controllable ventilation. Available in a wide range of sizes and with a fully insulated Aluminium solid cover. The range complies with the latest Building Regulations on Fire Safety and can be integrated into any Building Management System.
Linked to a central control panel, complete with a battery backup system in case of mains failure, the control panel can be triggered from either manual override switches local to the ventilator and the ground floor, by dedicated smoke detectors, or by interfacing with a third party smoke detection/fire alarm system.
Upstands can be specified either 300mm Splayed PVC-u or 300mm/400mm/500mm Splayed Metal.
